This article talked about the loss of phosphorous in our environment and how this is a result of our carnivorous diet. Phosphorous a nonrenewable energy source that is becoming very scarce to our environment. Phosphorous is a material that is very crucial for food production and agricultural uses. This article is instigating that as a human population converting to a plant-based diet would be the best for the environment. Changing our eating habits would cut back on the amount of phosphorus being used as well as cut back on the amount of methane being released into the atmosphere. As a growing population there will be a higher demand for food, imagine how many planet earths there would need to be to supply every persons ecological footprint.
I found this topic very important to environmental science because this is another case of the tradgedy of the commons where humans are using up too many reasources. As a citizen of earth it is up to us to make wise decisions about our diet and how it is going to effect our environment. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2016/11/161103124536.htm
